Tony and I connected online today for about six hours, mostly so I could slog my way to stream our Zoom call and test Fantasy Grounds session through a live Streamlabs OBS broadcast to Twitch. (THANK YOU, TONY!). I’ve watched a fair amount of videos on FG, but this is the first time I’ve had things up and running.
Working out the technical details of this first broadcast was challenging. It took me over two hours to track down an obscure issue, where Streamlabs OBS failed to register in the Mac OS X Screen Recording permissions. Without those permissions, no guests could be added to our test broadcast. The workaround was to provoke the Screen Recording permission settings by forcing SLOBS to call another media source requiring those same permissions.
For now, my Twitch stream is functional. It’s also buggy and ugly, but it does feel good to have finally made some progress.
