I added my old 17″ MacBook Pro to my office network yesterday by clamping a particleboard platform to some desk shelving at my product photography area. This morning, after I started backing up old files from the laptop to a 5Gb Seagate drive, I connected an old 16-port Netgear switch I found at a local Goodwill last year to my office network. I’ll try to track down a good deal on some CAT-5 at the Tukwilla RePC in the near future, so I can add both this laptop and the iMac I recently upgraded with a 3Tb SSD to the network.

I can’t help but smile when I actually do stop and think about this network and all of the devices I have online at this point. It’s pretty silly.
